Luke 24:35-43, Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.

Sharing Guidelines
*Sharing is not a time for teaching or debate; it is a time to sense the marvelous work of the Holy Spirit who leads the gathering.
*Reflection sharing is not meant to teach others but to share the meaning you personally have discovered. Therefore, do not criticize or debate another person’s sharing. Avoid boasting of your own understanding or knowledge.
*Respect the grace of the Holy Spirit, who reveals the meaning of the Word while dwelling among us, and listen attentively to others’ sharing, holding it in your heart.
*Keep confidential any personal reflections or stories shared in the group; practicing brotherly love means not passing along private matters outside the meeting.
*When speaking, always use the first person singular (“I”). Be careful not to distance or generalize your story by using the third person (“he,” “they”) or the first person plural (“we”).
*Keep it short.

<Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.>
✠ Luke24: 35-43
Gospel
Luke 23:35-43
The rulers sneered at Jesus and said,
“He saved others, let him save himself
if he is the chosen one, the Christ of God.”
Even the soldiers jeered at him.
As they approached to offer him wine they called out,
“If you are King of the Jews, save yourself.”
Above him there was an inscription that read,
“This is the King of the Jews.”

Now one of the criminals hanging there reviled Jesus, saying,
“Are you not the Christ?
Save yourself and us.”
The other, however, rebuking him, said in reply,
“Have you no fear of God,
for you are subject to the same condemnation?
And indeed, we have been condemned justly,
for the sentence we received corresponds to our crimes,
but this man has done nothing criminal.”
Then he said,
“Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.”
He replied to him,
“Amen, I say to you,
today you will be with me in Paradise.”

Today’s Reflection

In the Bible, sin does not only mean doing something morally wrong.
At its heart, sin means being separated from God.

The Bible teaches that when we keep God’s commandments, we live in God.
But when we turn away from His word and follow our selfish desires, we fall into sin.

The people of Israel could not free themselves from rejecting God’s call that began with Abraham.
Because of this, they crucified Jesus, the Messiah who came to save them.
However, the disciples proclaimed that if people believe and repent, they can receive salvation — because Jesus’ suffering and resurrection were part of God’s great plan, foretold by the prophets.

The disciples who walked to Emmaus, and those who were afraid

after Jesus’ death, did not understand that His suffering and resurrection were already written in the Law of Moses, the Prophets, and the Psalms.

True repentance begins when we believe that through Jesus’ suffering and death, evil has been defeated and our sins are forgiven.

When Jesus showed His hands and feet to His disciples and ate a piece of fish with them, He wanted them to know that His resurrection was real.

The disciples were sent out as witnesses of this great mystery — the Paschal Mystery, the mystery of Jesus’ death and resurrection.
Salvation is not just an idea or imagination; it is something we can experience in real life when we truly turn back to God.

To believe in the risen Jesus means believing that death is not the end, and that every sin can be forgiven by God.
Let us remember: being freed from sin means turning our lives back to God and living with Him again.
